Fearnando: One thousand and one creepy stories
Fearnando is a normal kid; however, there is something about him that brings strange things nearby.
This is the first story of a saga known as Fearnando: One Thousand and One Creepy Stories and the first-ever short film completely made in-house at Exodo Animation Studios.
From script to concept art to pre and post-production, we are pleased to share this achievement.
The Production
Upon the brink of turning 10 years, we were pushing for the idea of making a short film even when we had quite a few attempts in the past which ended up in zip files stored in someone’s hard drive.
However, in 2014 we decided to make it all the way and created the main concept for “Fearnando: One Thousand and One Creepy Stories”, which reached the end of production in early 2016, which included multiple re-scripts as well as an entire and unique storyline, concept art, modeling, character development and animation.
The production was not easy since the entire studio staff jumped into it whenever there were minutes to spare, and there not a lot of these. In more than one occasion we reached the point of completely stopping the production of this short film due to other projects, yet the haunting of old and unfinished projects was stuck in our heads and we just realized this couldn’t be just another attempt – we had to finish it and pushed it further into what the current short film is.
In the end, Fearnando: One Thousand and One Creepy Stories became the winner of the 3d animation category over at the Pantalla de Cristal Film Festival and was listed as Official Selection at the Miami International Science Fiction Festival, among others.
